StoryLAB is a post-disciplinary initiative based in Dallas, Texas and dedicated to exploring new, old and yet to be revealed forms of story telling and performance.

Thomas Riccio spent 15 years in the Alaskan wilderness--not to speak of all those trips to Siberia, Africa, and eastern Asia. Now he's transporting all that experience back to suburban Dallas. The world-renowned expert in performance by indigenous peoples became the head of StoryLAB, a new media and performance program.

The Dallas Morning News

Having worked in other cultures, traveling and exploring the margins of mainstream Western culture, Riccio felt the responsibility to integrate what was given him by the elders, healers, performers, and countless others that have shared with him so freely.

StoryLAB is a venue for experimenting and exploring post-disciplinary performance methods, expressions, and contexts.

StoryLAB seeks to articulate place in an increasingly non-place world.

StoryLAB creates performances and mediated expressions inspired by the staging, acting, narrative and development methods extrapolated from indigenous and ritual performance paradigms.

StoryLAB serves as a bridge between indigenous and non-indigenous performance perspectives, methods, and functions.

StoryLAB is a catalyst fostering the development of place specific and community evolved/involved performance.

StoryLAB seeks to establish working methodologies to enable each individual, group, and moment, to speak of its own place, on its own terms, in its own way.

StoryLAB envisions performances as open, dynamic, and evolving narratives actively participating in our evolving global narrative. Our new, collective story.

We are all becoming indigenous again--we are all earthlings.
