“Theatre is supposed to a viable art form. It should speak to everyone,” says Riccio. “How come kids can afford $25 for a concert, but don’t go to the theatre? That tells me that theatre isn’t reaching its audience.” He rummages through his files and brings out a flier on Betawulf, a play he adapted and directed last season. “When was the last time you saw a (kid with a) Mohawk in a theatre audience? He asks. He smiles, “Betawulf brought in the Mohawks.”
